character summaries

rhaizan - mc

a broad-for-his-height man, nobody can quite tell his age, but they know from the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles that he is a good-natured man and a little too sincere for his own good. he keeps his beard short in a scruffy looking goatee, and enlists lugh’s help to keep his hair cropped just below his chin. he wears a chainmail tunic over his regular dark grey linen tunic, as well as black pants and a black cloak to cover the rest of his body. he has iron gauntlets on both of his arms, as well as shin guards over his boots made of the same material.

• cheerful, a little desperate to prove himself, likes lugh (not in that way you creep), wants to save the world, strong with magic, disciplined enough (this trai grows with time)
• a little too trusting, a little dense with people sometimes, forgetful, bad at oversharing but not about feelings

lugh - mc

short and stocky, have a stoic, no nonsense expression that makes most people think twice about interacting with them. they keep their blond hair up in either a ponytail or bun, though some loose strands of their bangs escape it since it isn’t quite long enough to stay. they wear a leather chestplate and iron vambraces and greaves for armor, and a linen tunic and dark brown pants make up the rest of their attire. a forest green cloak covers most of their body, and take extra care to polish their armor every day after they and rai stop traveling for the night.

• protective of those they care about, good at magic, likes rai (not in that way you Creep), detail focused, attentive, observant
• a little too cynical, distrustful (a trait that develops throughout the story), fakes confidence in themselves (especially near the end), prefers to suffer alone rather than be vulnerable, closed off

izhal - mc

he is a blond haired inventor that keeps his hair in a messy braid he usually never bothers to maintain much besides a quick brush every so often. he’s quite lanky, and lacks some of the physical strength that would be needed for the amount of traveling he does. he dresses in the ever popular colors of grey, brown, and dark blue, with grey making up most of the color of his robes and brown being the color of his favorite jacket. he likes wearing ascots, and he considers them a staple of his whole outfit. he’s very intelligent, hyperactive when it comes to his interests, and the very textbook definition of autistic. he has trouble understanding most social cues, and he’s also endlessly curious. that’s part of the reason why he joined the narethyn, a guild focused on exploration and documentation of lytari and all it has to offer.

• wickedly smart and has the wit to rival even the best of jesters, though he doesn’t have the wherewithal (or the social ability) to use it, loyal to the people he loves, able to think quickly when it comes to disasters not involving people
• socially awkward, talks too much sometimes

these aren’t finished yet (i have to add two more haha) but i am pretty satisfied with how these turned out. hopefully i don’t forget about this post. ha. hah.
